In order to calculate the overall magnification of a compound microscope we have to multiply the magnification of an objective lens with the magnification of the eye piece

Given:

Magnification of objective lens = 5

magnification of eyepiece = 30

So magnification of compound microscope = Magnification of objective lens X magnification of eyepiece

magnification of compound microscope = 5 X 30 = 150

Hence answer is 150
