8(2x - 14) + 13 = 4x - 27
16x - 112 + 13 = 4x - 27 [ Open the parenthesis- distributive property ]
16x - 4x = -27 -13 + 112
[ Put all the x terms to one side and the non-x terms on the other ]
12x = -40 + 112 [ Simplify ]
12x = 72 [ Further simplification ]
x =
[ Divide both sides by 12 ]
x = 6 [ Final answer ]

x = 6 makes the equation true.
