do the brackets
-1.75/5+0.4-3/4
simplfy it to -1.75/5+0.4-3/4
-1.75/5 will then change to 0.35
-0.35+0.4-3/4
simplify it to -2.8/4
2.8/4 will then become 0.7. I hope this helped.
