The "| |" signs mean absolute value so, you can convery your equation to 2x+10>26 which you can solve like a normal equation. First subtract 10 from both sides so you are left with 2x>16. Then divide both sides by 2 to get x>8 so your answer is anything greater then 8.

(2x+10)>26 or -(2x+10)<26
2x+10>26 -2x-10<26
2x>26-10 -2x<36
2x>16 x>36/-2
so : x>8 or x>-18 S={8;-18}
