Answer:

The exact probability that Taylor picks an egg from the basket is 29/40

Explanation:

There is a basket containing 14 white eggs, 15 brown eggs, and 11 lemons.

The total objects we have are: 14 + 15 + 11 = 40. It means Total posibilities are T = 40.

Taylor is in a hurry to make breakfast and she picks something from the basket randomly. We need to calculate the probability she picks an egg.

The basket contains two types of eggs: brown and white. So, eggs are the sum of both 14 + 15 = 29. It means favorable possibilities F = 29.

Now we can calculate the probability as the relationship between favorable possibilities and total possibilities.

P = F/T = 29/40.

Finally, we can conclude that the exact probability that Taylor picks an egg from the basket is 29/40.

Okay so probability is just percentage of a whole, right?

So you have 14 White Eggs + 15 Brown Eggs + 11 Lemons.

Add all those numbers together and you get your whole.

14 + 15 = 29 29+11 = 40

40 is your whole.

So because you want to know how likely it is to pick up an egg, you would follow these steps.

100/40 = 2.5 (For each part of the 40, it is worth 2.5 percent.)

2.5 x 29 = 72.5

Your probability of picking an egg out of the bask is 72.5 percent or 72.5 out of 100.
