Mountains include folded, volcanic, fault block and unwarped. They are formed when the land is pushed upward by forces inside the Earth.

Plains are large expanses of flat or gently rolling land. Plains are usually located in close proximity to coastal regions. A mountain usually measures more than six hundred meters. Mountains are formed by volcanic activity or tectonic uplift. A plateau is a flat topped mountain. They can be formed by tectonic uplift of flat areas or extensive flood basaults over thousands of years.
