George is wondering what bill meant when he said, "this restaurant is not expensive." this is an example of encoding.

This is not an example of encoding. Encoding is the arrangement of parts of a message in an order which makes it more efficient to send, the encoding of messages in semiotics transmits messages to the addresse. This message from Bill has not been encoded.
