As given Q is the midpoint of GH. SO it will divide GH in two equal parts. We can also say GQ is half of GH.

So we can write

GQ = (GH)/(2)

As given GQ = 2x+3 , GH = 5x - 5

2x + 3 = (5x - 5)/(2)

2(2x+3) = 5x - 5

4x + 6 = 5x - 5

6+5 = 5x - 4x

11 = x

So GQ = 2x+ 3 = 2*11 + 3 = 25
