The moon is about 240,000 miles from earth. What is the distance written as a whole number multiplied by a power of ten

24*10^4, I think is what they want, technically 240,000 is already a whole number. If we round down to one significant figure, we can get 2*10^5, which is what we'd write in scientific notation (or 2.4*10^5 if decimals were allowed)
