Read the paragraph my question is. Why didn’t researchers use a human population? Would the results in rats be absolutely applicable to humans?

Researchers didn't used a human population to developed these experiments, since they didn't knew what the effects of the consumming of that food dye would be on the organisms. Although, they used a mice population, which are genetically and biologically similar to humans, reason why the results of those experiments actually are extrapolable to the human beings.
