Distance from Apartment to Subway = 3/4 Mil or 0.75 Mi.
You walk at the rate (or your speed) = 3(1/4) Mi/h or 13/4 Mi/h (or 3.25 Mi/H)
Time needed = Distance/(Speed) = (0.75)/3.25 = (3/13) H
Or time I minute = (3x60)/13 = 180/13 = 13.846 ≈ 14 min
