Moreover, the importance of written law was an important aspect of Roman law that we maintain to this day.
Government:
Many institutions of Rome can be found in governments nowadays. For example, bicameralism is a Roman idea. Moreover, the idea of a Senate was first present in Rome.
Language:
Latin was the language spoken in Rome, and this gave rise to the languages known as "Romance languages." This category includes languages such as Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese. Latin also influenced other languages indirectly, including English.
