Answer with Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a rectangular wall of a barn is 180 square feet.

Its length is 8 feet longer than the width.

Let w be the width of wall of barn

then, Length of wall of barn=w+8

we know that area of rectangle=Length×width

so, (w+8)w=180

w²+8w=180

w²+8w-180=0

w²+18w-10w-180=0

w(w+18)-10(w+18)=0

(w-10)(w+18)=0

either w-10=0 or w+18=0

w=10 or w= -18

w= -18 not possible

so, w=10

w+8=18

So, Length of wall of barn= 18 feet

and Width of wall of barn= 10 feet
