Your goal is to save $1200 to pay for next year's books and fees. How much must you save each month if you have 5 months to accomplish your goal?

Hi, Serenafrancis1! :)

This can be solved by creating a simple algebraic equation:

5x=1200
x=money saved per month

Solve for x:

5x=1200
Divide both sides by 5.

(5x)/5=(1200)/5
Simplify.

x=240

You would need to save $240 a month.

Hope this helps.

All this is asking you is to find how much you need to save per month (limit of 5) in order to make your goal of $1200.

To solve this, simply divide 1200 by 5, which is the months, and you get $240, which is how much you have to save per month in 5 moths to reach your exact goal of $1200. If anything is confusing please ask :)
