8x + 4y = 3...to find x int, sub in 0 for y and solve for x
8x + 4(0) = 3
8x = 3
x = 3/8....so the x int is (3/8,0)

8x + 4y = 3
4y = -8x + 3
y = -2x + 3/4....slope here is -2. A perpendicular line will have a negative reciprocal slope. So the slope we need for our perpendicular line is 1/2.

y = mx + b
slope(m) = 1/2
(3/8,0)....x = 3/8 and y = 0
now we sub and find b, the y int
0 = 1/2(3/8) + b
0 = 3/16 + b
-3/16 = b

so ur perpendicular line going thru the x int is : y = 1/2x - 3/16
