The Radius is an long bone of the forearm that accompanies the Ulna. Usually stress fractures occur as a result of tremendous amount of stress falling on the part of the body, which causes breaks and compression. The Radius and Ulna, normally suffer fractures of their distal portion, where they meet the hand bones, mainly due to falls and your wrist breaking when you put it down to stop the fall. The easiest way of saying it, is to merely say the wrist is broken (It is really difficult to break the bones of the hands.
