basically your doing the equation like two algebraic equations and are trying to see if the statement is true. you ignore the greater than sign because there is no division with a negative number. work it as if the greater than sign is a equal sign and go down and then add it in in the last step. And the statement is true because 5 is intact greater than -2. does that make sense?
