Increase is a term used for add. So we have to find the number that is increased by 10 to make 114. So take 10 from 114 and you will get the answer.

Let x be this number.
If you increase x by 10 you will get 114
So x+10 = 114
Subtract 10 from both sides:
x + 10 - 10 = 114 - 10
The number is x = 104
