6=4a-4-6 what is the answer

I think the question is: solve for "a"



so what we are going to do is to bring a's term in one side and the other terms in the other side...as follows:


6 = 4a - 4 - 6

6 = 4a - 10 add 10 to both sides

6 + 10 = 4a - 10 + 10

16 = 4a divide both sides by 4

16/4 = 4a/4

4 = a

Therefore the value of a would be 4
