The scale on a map of Virginia shows that 1 inch represents 30 miles. The actual distance from Richmond. VA. to Washington DC., is 110 miles. On the map, how many inches are between the two cities

3 2/3 inches because

30+30+30=90
110-90=20

Each inch is 30 miles so you can get 3 whole inches (or 90 miles) out of 110 then the remainder of 20 miles is 2/3 of the last inch.
