Can you ever use a calculator to determine if a number is rational or irrational?explain.

you can try


well, a number is rational if it can be writtten in form a/b where a and b are integers and b≠0

integers are like -4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4


irrational numbers can't be written in form a/b like that with integers

so if we had 2/3, we're done, no need to use calculator
note: all releating deciamals can be written as a fraction and are therefor rational

you can use a calculator, but if it's in fraction form, no need to do that
sometimes a number repeats but you might not be able to see it if you use a calculator

yes, for fractions you can multiply the denominator by the numerator. For square roots you can use the square root button.
