Distance between 2 points L(x₁ ,y₁) and S(x₂ , y₂) is calculated as per the formula here-after:

LS =√[(x₂-x₁)² + (y₂-y₂)²]

L(-4 , 4) and S(8 , 4) , then:

LS =√[(8+4)² + (4-4)²] =√(12² - 0) = 12 units
