The business function that deals with compiling, recording, and analyzing financial transactions is the accounting function. The employees in the accounting department are the ones who compiles the source documents of all transactions affecting the business. They will also be the one to record the economic transactions happening in the business. After the recording and the compilation of source documents, they will be tasked to analyze the data gathered either in a yearly basis or even in a monthly basis. The product of their analysis would then be communicated to the high ranking officials of the company which could be useful in their decision making.
