The graph of a quadratic function has a domain of (-∞, ∞) and range of [4, ∞). In two or more complete sentences, explain how the given range of the function can help you to determine whether the graph opens up or down.

it if opens up, then the range will extednd to positive infinity.
if it opens down then the range will exted to negative infintiy.

there, 2 complete sentances
so we got range is from 4 to infinty so it opens up

Answer:

Opens Up

Explanation:

Here we are given that the range starts with 4 and goes upto positive infinity.4 is on the positive side of y axis , and positive infinity lies much above the 4 . Hence all the y coordinates of the graph will be lying above 4 and extends upto positive infinity. Hence the graph is opening up. however if the range would have been extending towards negative infinity , the parabola would be opening down.
