The answer for this question is: Role conflict
Role conflict refers to a situation in which a person is expected to perform incompatible roles. In accounting, you can only use one method in calculating depreciation in order to achieve a consistency method in the report. There is no way Joe could fulfill both requests without damaging his credibility as an accountant.
