As an aircraft rises, the temperature falls. You can determine the change in temperature between the ground andthe altitude the aircraft has reached by using the formula c = -6.7 (a/2000) What is the change of temperature (c),in degrees Fahrenheit, at an altitude (a) of 1500 ft?

The formula given is:

c=-6.7((a)/(2000))

Where

c is temp

a is altitude

We want to know temperature (c) at altitude of 1500 (a)

We plug in 1500 into a and figure out c, simple!

Lets do this:

\begin{gathered} c=-6.7((a)/(2000)) \\ c=-6.7((1500)/(2000)) \\ c=-6.7(0.75) \\ c=-5.025 \end{gathered}

The temperature at an altitude of 1500 feet is:

c=-5.025
