The answer would be cohesive property. Water sticks to the wall of the stem, and then uses its cohesion to get to the top of the leaf.

Answer:

Water transport through Xylem cell due to the surface tension /cohesive properties of water molecule

Step-by-step explanation:

There are special conducting channels with in the plants and trees that take up water through the roots and transports it to the top level. This water transporting system in plants and trees is called as vascular system. Xylem is part of vascular that specifically work to move water across the plant and trees body.

The surface tension caused due to the cohesive property water molecules causes the water to move through Xylem in upward direction.
