Scientific notation
is the way that scientists easily handle very large numbers or very small numbers.
For example, instead of writing 0.0000000056, we write
.
Hence, in scientific notation
0.000028 =
So, the answer is -5. The power of ten has to be -5.

-5 as that you would have to count that places to the left. You end decimal would have to be between 1 and 10, so it would not count the 8. I'm sorry if my explanation is not good, but that is the right answer
