molarity of a solution can be calculated using the following rule:
molarity = number of moles of solute / volume of solution
Therefore,
number of moles = molarity x volume = 0.360 x 0.5 = 0.18 moles

From the periodic table:
molecular mass of chlorine = 35.5 grams
molecular mass of sodium = 22.9 grams

Therefore,
molar mass of sodium chloride = 35.5 + 22.9 = 58.4 grams

Number of moles is calculated using the following rule:
number of moles = mass / molar mass
Therefore,
mass = number of moles x molar mass = 0.18 x 58.4 = 10.512 grams
