Many home improvement stores sell plywood with a thickness of seven millimeters. How does this compare to standard plywood which has a thickness of 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4"? Which one of these thicknesses could be replaced with seven millimeter plywood?

1" = 25.4mm ----> 1mm = 1/25.4" -----> 7mm = 7/25.4" ≈ 1/63" which is even less than 1/4"

Answer:

¼"

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

1/4" -- 3/8" -- 1/2" -- 3/4"

The above measurements are given in inches;

1 inch is equivalent to 2.54cm

Hence, 1 inch = 25.4mm

Converting the given measurements from inches to mm

¼inches = ¼ * 25.4 mm

¼inches = 6.35 mm

⅜ inches = ⅜ * 25.4 mm

⅜ inches = (3 * 25.4)/8

⅜ inches = 9.525 mm

½ inches = ½ * 25.4 mm

½ inches = 25.4/2 mm

½ inches = 12.7 mm

¾ inches = ¾ * 25.4 mm

¾ inches = (3 * 25.4)/4

¾ inches = 19.05 mm

From the above conversion,

¼ inches is closer to 7mm plywood and can be replaced with it.
