You have to test it out of what's 3 times longer

l=w+3
24= 2w+2l

Substitute for l
24= 2w+2(w+3)
24= 2w+2w+6
24= 4w+6
18=4w
4.5=w

Plug in the w value
l=(4.5)+3
l=7.5

Final answer: Length-7.5, Width-4.5
