The general form of an equation of a straight line is written as follow:
Ax + By + C = 0
A, B and C are real integers which can be calculated for given the values of x and y.
The general form of an equation can be converted into slope intercept form to find a particular point on a graph.
To write an equation in the general form, the equation has to written is such a way that it will equal to zero.
2x +4y + 2 = 3y + 5
2x + 4y - 3y + 2 - 5 = 0
2x + y - 3 = 0
