A rectangle is a parallelogram whose four sides are at right angles to each other. Opposite sides have the same length. therefore:

$\begin{gathered} AC=BD \\ AC=2x+15 \\ BD=4x-5 \\ so\colon \\ 2x+15=4x-5 \\ solve_{\text{ }}for_{\text{ }}x\colon \\ 2x=20 \\ x=(20)/(2) \\ x=10 \end{gathered}$
