The answer is 2, because, 2×2=4 so 2(2)-8= 4-8=4 (if you are dealing with negatives then it would be -4)

Just do
Parentheses \\ Equation\\ Multiplication \\ Division\\ Addition\\ Subtraction\\

We're doing
and
subtraction (and somewhat
multiplication )

So, let's work this problem out:

Problem: (2x - 8) = 4

Let's add the number

8 on your sides, like:
2x - 8 + 8 \\ = 4+ 8

Which gives us:

2x = 12

2 goes into the both of those numbers so let's divide both sides by
2

(2x)/(2) = 1x \\ (12)/(2) = 6

(6)/(1x) = (6)/(x)

Finally, our answer:
x = 6
