An example of facilitated transport is faclitated diffusion in which molecules just diffuse from one point to another across a membrane. For instance, glucose use facilitated transport to move in and out of cells.
Active transport refers to a type of transport in which energy is needed for it to occur. Example is the uptake of glucose in the small intestines of humans.
