Imagine you are a playwright, writing a script about a childhood memory. Write three to four lines of character dialogue, using correct script formatting. The dialogue should utilize at least one example of figurative language (e.g. simile, metaphor, hyperbole, etc.).

"I remember when my cousin and I would play at the park everyday. It was as if the park was our home. We felt more at home at the park than at home. Home life was rough like sandpaper for us."

Answer:

Lucy (entering her childhood's house)

-Oh, my God! It's been so long...! It feels like it's been a whole life since I walked these floors. The smell, though, remains the same. This is my childhood's perfume, I definitely recognize this place; it's my home.

Step-by-step explanation:

In these lines that represent a character's dialogue in a play, we can see the directions above the character's lines which indicate who is going to talk and what is the character doing (where this situation is taking place). In order to let the reader know that the character is going to speak, we use the dialogue symbol (-). Also, as requested, there is a simile (figurative language): "It feels like it's been a whole life since I walked these floors."
