The depressants slow the activity of the central nervous system,stress on the cardiovascular system, nausea and vomiting and elevate dopamine and energy levels. All these things lead to weakening of the immune system. So, the statement that Depressants may reduce the effectiveness of your immune system making it easier for you to catch a cold and you may be at greater risk for developing cancer is true.

Depressants has many negative effects, these include depression, chronic fatigue, breathing difficulties, sleep problems, etc.
Long time use of depressants can affect the immune system, weakening it considerably and making the body susceptible to many diseases including cancer.
