When you multiply a positive number with another positive number that is less than one, the first positive number would decrease.
The reason why is that the number you start off with is being multiplied by a number less than one. When you multiply a number and 1, you get the number by itself. When you multiply by a number and a number greater than 1, then you get a bigger number. But when you multiply a number and a number less than 1, the product will be less than the original number.
