Homo erectus is a fossil hominin species dating from at least 1.8 million years to 100,000 years or so. They expanded from Africa and moved into Europe and Asia. Homo erectus traveled at an approximate rate of about 20 miles every 20 years or so following prey and finding more suitable conditions to live.
