We are given –

  • n = 3
  • Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s
  • Acceleration, a = 6 m/s²

Distance covered in nth seconds –

Sn = u + 1/2 × a × (2n-1)

↠Sn = 0 + 1/2 × 6 × (2× 3 -1)

↠Sn = 0 + 3 × (6-1)

↠Sn = 0 + 3 × 5

Sn = 15 m

  • Henceforth, distance covered in the 3rd sec will be 15 m.
