Let :
P be the Initial Area, = (3500 km²)
r, the rate of decrease = ( - 8.5%)
n, the number of year = 6 years
A the resulting Area: ?
A = P(1+i)ⁿ
A= 3600(1-0.085)⁶
A = 3600( 0.915)⁶
A = 2112.66 km²
