Melissa is making clothes for her dolls. She has 7/8 of a yard of fabric. Each doll shirt requires 2/7 of fabric. How many shirts can she make for her dolls?

You want to first make them common denominators. You should get 49/56 is how much fabric she has and she needs 16/56 to make a shirt. With how much fabric she has she can make a total of 3 shirts.
