in y = mx + b form, the slope is in the m position and the y int is in the b position

y = mx + b
slope(m) = 4
y int (b) = -3
equation is : y = 4x - 3

y - y1 = m(x - x1)
slope(m) = -1
(2,4)....x1 = 2 and y1 = 4
equation is : y - 4 = -1(x - 2)

(-3,5)(2,10)
slope = (10 - 5) / (2 - (-3) = 5/5 = 1

y = mx + b
slope(m) = 1
use either point...(2,10)...x = 2 and y = 10
now sub and find b, the y int
10 = 1(2) + b
10 = 2 + b
10 - 2 = b
8 = b
s ur equation is : y = x + 8
