The National Safe Kids Campaign and Bell Sports sponsored a study that surveyed 8,159 children ages 5 to 4 who were riding bicycles. Approximately 2/5 of the children were wearing helmets, and of those, only 13/20 were wearing the helmets correctly. About how many of the children were wearing helmets correctly?

2/5 of 8159 children = [2×8159] ÷ 5 = 3263.6 children

of 3263.6 children, 13/20 wear helmet correctly

13/20 × 3263.6 = [3263.6 × 13] ÷ 20 = 2121.34 children

Around 2121 children wear helmet correctly
