The epic of Gigamesh portrays gods with the same feelings and emotions as of man, they get angry, happy, rewarding, punishing for the same reasons as man. They are always present but not all powerful, as one god cannot intervene into another god’s domain.

Their relationship with humankind is very close, they feel obliged to guide mankind whenever they seem to go away from the path destined for their lives. Humankind is simple for gods and are always dependent on their (god’s) mercy.
