We may determine the slope of the line using:
m= (y₂-y₁) / (x-x)

= (8-11) / (2 -(-4))

= -3/6

m =-1/2

Now, using the slope-intercept form:

y-y1 = m( x-x1)

y-11=-1/2(x-(-4))

y-11=-1/2(x+4)

y -11 = -x/2 - 2

y = -x/2 + 9
