remember, in any right triangle, if the legs of the triangle are lengths a and b and the hytpotonuse is legnth c then
a²+b²=c²

so, given tat the legs are 6 and 8

6²+8²=c²
36+64=c²
100=c²
sqrt both sides
10=c

the hytponuse is 10 units

A^2 + B^2 = C^2
6^2 + 8^2 = C^2
36 + 64 = C^2
100 = C^2
10 = C

The hypotenuse is 10 units long.
