If 8x – 4 = 6x - 10, find the value of 5x.​

5x = - 15

Explanation:

8x - 4 = 6x - 10 ( subtract 6x from both sides )

2x - 4 = - 10 ( add 4 to both sides )

2x = - 6 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = - 3

Then

5x = 5 × - 3 = - 15
