A grocery store advertises cherries on sale for $2 per pound. At a different store Millie paid $11 for 2 3/4 pounds of cherries. How much more did Millie pay per pound for cherries than if she had bought them on sale?

Millie bought
2 (3)/(4) = (4*2+3)/(4)= (11)/(4) pounds of cherries for $11


11/4 pounds cost 11 dollars

then 1 pound cost x dollars
---------------------------------------------------------

x= (1*11)/( (11)/(4) )=11* (4)/(11)=4 dollars.


Millie payed $2 more per pound.
