Linda is saving money to buy a game. So far she has saved $24, which is two-thirds of the total cost of the game. How much does the game cost?

By proportion the cost is  24 / 2/3  = 24 * 3/2 = 72/2 =  $36

Let "g" be the price of the game, so:

24 = (2/3)g

Isolate g to get answer:

g = 36

So the game is $36
